Maytag Gas Engine Washing Machine
This washer was found in North Dakota where it lived and worked a sheltered life. It was well used, but never had to endure fifty years in the hedge row while it rusted away. Now it’s restored and running perfectly awaiting that next power failure. Collecting, restoring and showing antique engines is a fun hobby.

How old is my vintage Domestic sewing machine?
It's a Domestic 762 Zig-zag machine, it's all blue metal with red letters on it. It has some fancy embroidery stitches that it can do (hence the zig-zag name). I can't seem to find anyone else on the internet that has one.
I would assume, based on what I found, that it must be post-1956. Perhaps the following will help you in your search!
"After acquiring the Domestic Sewing Machine Company of Buffalo, New York, in 1924, White continued manufacturing the Domestic Franklin sewing machines for Sears Roebuck & Co. . . . After the war(WW2), there was a severe shortage of sewing machines. Seizing the initiative, the company expanded its plant and capacity to manufacture machines. The company also introduced a number of new models including an automatic zig-zag machine." http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/3081/white.html

White Sewing Machine Co. developed and marketed a series of sewing machines incorporating this capability and introduced its first open arm style zigzag model in 1956.

Wher do I find the history of old Singer Sewing Machines if I have the serial number?
Patented first in 1890 renewed in 1895 Serial Number
13778814.
This question has gone six days without an answer. A Yahoo search for "vintage sewing machines" (include the quotation marks) yeilds 39,600 results. I'm betting that you can do the same search and find the information you seek by exploring the first ten results. You might also want to search for "antique sewing machines".
Good luck with your search.
How old is my Singer Electronic Sewing Machine Model 9143 - Anniversary edition. It is a used machine not new?
I got an old Singer sewing machine from my mother; not an antique, but an older model - Model 9143 - Electronic machine. Does anyone know how old this machine is and how good it is? I wanted to sell it but don't know anything about it. Thank you.
It was made in 1991-1992. As for value, I really couldn't find a website which offered this service. All I could find was the manufacture date. I'm sorry. Good luck.
Does anyone know anything about singer sewing machines?
I have recently aquired what appears to be an antique singer sewing machine model # G7174698. I would appreciate any information anyone could share on this sewing machine.
You have a model 66 released on July 10,1919. There were 50,000 released that year alone. Made at the Elizabethport factory in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
I have a couple, and even though they are probably the most common old machines around they are very good and strong. In nice condition its worth less than a hundred dollars. Nice in a nice cabinet maybe a couple hundred. If its not so nice condition it may still be worth 50.00 if it works good.
Kind of cool aren't they. Have fun with it and learn how to work it.
Good luck.
Anyone know how to use the bobbin on an antique singer sewing machine?
It's at least 50 years old, and the bobbin is unlike any I've seen on any other machine, including my other antique singer table. Which has broken, or I'd use it instead of worrying about this one.
If it isn't round–it's a shuttle and that's another kettle of fish. The shuttle predated the round bobbin by many years.
I learned to sew on a Singer treadle machine that was older than I - pre WW II ( I'm 65 now)– it had a round bobbin.
I agree with the suggestion to go to Singer's web site. You might be lucky.
good luck
